  Senior Software Engineer:  
     
 

Senior Software Engineer, 40 hours/week.  8 am to 5 pm.  Salary $63,981/year.  Job duties are: System analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of Oracle 10G, 9i, 8i, 7.x applications in the Insurance, Finance, and Manufacturing domains.  Utilize tools and utilities such as SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, and SQL*Loader.  Develop stored procedures, functions, triggers, and tables; use Oracle reports to develop and modify as per business requirements; analyze query structures; create user documentation; technical documentation, unit and system testing.

Position requires Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering and 3 years experience in job duties OR 3 years of experience as Software Engineer.

*Employer will accept applicants with foreign equivalent degrees.  Employer will accept applicants with any suitable combination of education, training or experience.  In lieu of Master’s degree + 3 years of work experience employer will accept Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of progressive post baccalaureate work experience.

Instructional Designer / Script/ Content Writer:

 
 
  • Serve as a peer person for the development of the script/ content.
  • Supervise and coordinate the team of script / content Writers.
  • Collection of raw data from the Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Develop a “content tree” for the SCO. (Sharable Content Object)
  • Defining and developing “learning objectives”.
  • Content Object is logically and appropriately chunked into SCOs, for intra- SCO navigational purpose.
  • Major points and ideas of the content are connected together, so that the document appears cohesive.
  • Interact with the Subject Matter Expert (SME), making sure that the script/ content is complete and coherent. This is achieved, when the ID’s understanding of the script/content is approved by the SME.
  • Language and instructions, given in the script/content, should be clear, logical, and consistent for the understanding of the Visual Designer and Graphic Developers.
  • Prepare transcription scripts for voice over, with the assistance of the SME.
  • Prepare “Self Assessments” based on the “learning objectives”.
  • Prepare “Things to Remember” and “Glossary” for each SCO.
  • Interact with the client, along with SME and Project Coordinator, for feedbacks / comments on the acceptability of the script/content.
  • Interact with Visual Designers and Graphic Developers, to ensure that the development is according to the script/content and client’s requirements.
  • Distribute the client approved copy of the script /content  to the Visual Designer and Senior Graphic Developer.

  Content Writer / Script Writer :  
 
  • Shall report to the Instructional Designer.
  • Interact with SME for obtaining raw data.

While preparing the content / script, the Content Writer / Script Writer shall ensure that ;

  • Usage of British spellings. Ex: “Customise” instead of “Customize” (For domestic / local projects, British Spellings are used.)
  • Terms, phrases, and concepts that are probably unknown to the learner will appropriately be defined, when first used.
  • Acronyms, abbreviations, jargons, slang language, wordiness, overused phrases and contractions (such as use of “&” in lieu of “and”) should be avoided.
  • Script is presented preferably in the present tense and active voice (Ex: “is”, “are” in lieu of “was”, “were”).
  • Gender-specific language must be avoided. (Ex: terms like “his” or “her” are avoided).
  • Client-specified capitalization rules should be used correctly and consistently. (Ex: “Traction Substation”, use of “T” or “t” as per client requirement).
  • All written documents should be grammatically correct.
  • All punctuations correctly used.
  • Client name, products, and titles must be spelled correctly and used appropriately. (Ex: Usage of IRS specification numbers).
  • Use of pronouns, such as “it” and “they” shall be minimised and specific concrete words should be used instead. (Ex: “Cable laying is done in soft soil” in lieu of “It is done in soft soil”).
  • Numbers and numerals should be accurate.

Document and produce clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly software documentation and RFP’s.
